The Indian market is a large marketplace for all types of products. Having the 2nd largest population in the world, the market presents various opportunities to different businesses. Considering this fact, Geddam Vijay Sundar, Ankita Jain and Anvitha Budithi started 16 to 69 to become a leading women’s clothing brand in India. Having strong cultural roots, women’s clothing is one of the top businesses in India. Having 48% women population, it presents a unique opportunity to make women feel confident and strong with clothing that includes both classic and modern outfits. To cater to such a large market, we started our brand in 2020 coinciding with the Covid-19 pandemic when the online business was booming in India. Within a few years of operations, we became a top-selling and popular brand among Indian women.

From traditional sarees to shalwar kameez suits, kurtas, kurta pant sets, and co-ord sets, we aim to become differentiated in catering to the market for women aged between 16 and 69, and offering a wide variety of premium clothing with the touch of sustainability and locality. We strongly believe that we have a role to play in society and contribute to local communities by giving them back. Our core philosophy lies with sustainability principles of procuring ethical, organic and environmental-friendly materials, and turning them into finished products using ethical and sustainable manufacturing practices. Moreover, we believe in women’s empowerment and thus employ locals and women at our worksite and contribute to charitable causes for giving back to society. Our vision is simple – become the largest sustainable and empowering brand for women’s clothing in India. The story isn’t over yet, as we keep writing new pages every day so stay tuned for more!
